About the Role

Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking to take the next step in your career? Would you like to join a growing team where you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of development planning projects and continue developing your skills within a supportive and collaborative environment? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We're currently looking for a Transport Planner to join our Transport Planning team in Nottingham. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys delivering high-quality transport planning solutions, working collaboratively on a range of projects and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing a range of technical reports, including Transport Notes, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Environmental Statement Transport Chapters, and Active Travel Audits, together with the associated calculations.
  • Undertaking preliminary highway design using AutoCAD and using industry-standard software including TRL Junctions, LinSig/Junctions, TRICS, and TEMPro.
  • Supporting the delivery and management of projects, assisting with staff resourcing, project deliverables, project financials, and liaising with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Playing an important role in the continued growth of the Nottingham Transport Planning team while working alongside colleagues across the wider business.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience working in private consultancy development planning across multiple sectors, ideally including residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
  • A degree in Transport Planning or a related discipline.
  • Experience producing Transport Notes, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Environmental Statement Transport Chapters, and Active Travel Audits, together with the associated calculations.
  • Experience using junction capacity modelling software, including TRL Junctions and LinSig/Junctions.
  • Proficiency in key industry software such as TRICS, TEMPro, and AutoCAD.
  • A good understanding of preliminary highway design and the application of relevant design standards.
  • Experience supporting the delivery and management of projects, including project deliverables, project financials, and liaising with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to communicate technical information clearly to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A desire to continue developing your technical knowledge and contribute to innovative transport planning solutions.
  • An ambition to support the continued growth of the Nottingham Transport Planning team.
