Role Description
The Transport Planner is a full-time, on-site role based in the West Midlands. The role involves planning and scheduling vehicle routes, allocating loads, and coordinating with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to ensure timely deliveries.

Responsibilities:

- Monitoring daily operations
- Resolving transport issues
- Optimizing fleet utilization
- Maintaining accurate records in transport management systems
- Communicating delivery updates
- Managing changes to schedules
- Supporting compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Reviewing transport performance data to identify improvements in efficiency, service quality, and cost-effectiveness
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated skills in Transportation Planning and Transport Modelling to design efficient routes and support data-driven decision-making.
- Experience in Operations Management and Transportation Management to oversee daily logistics activities and fleet performance.
- Strong Communication skills to collaborate with drivers, internal teams, and customers and to manage service expectations.
- Proficiency with transport management systems, route-planning tools, and standard office software.
- Solid understanding of UK road transport regulations, health and safety practices, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and time management capabilities.
- Previous experience in road haulage, logistics, or warehousing planning is highly beneficial.
- Relevant vocational training or a qualification in logistics, transport management, or a related field is preferred.
