Transport Supervisor

What does the role involve?

To deliver products to our customers in an efficient, safe, and timely managed schedule; to be the friendly and helpful face of our company once at the customer’s site. To cover for the transport manager when they are away from the business.

What you will be doing:

  • Deliver products to customer sites/premises
  • Unload products and ensure paperwork is completed correctly and accurately by both yourself and the customer
  • Perform daily safety checks
  • Keep transport documents and paperwork updated
  • Maintain good care of your vehicle by following company regulations
  • Carry out other duties within yard/warehouse as and when needed
  • Work in a manner which ensures the safety of self and colleagues
  • Cover for the transport manager when they are away from the business
  • Make decisions in the transport manager's absence
  • Coordinate with external transport companies
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of vehicles
  • Ensure all other drivers are following health and safety procedures and processes
  • Any other reasonable duties within the individual's capabilities
  • Driving record, both vehicle and forklift where required
  • Responsible for deliveries adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Ensuring customers are satisfied with the delivery schedule
  • Loading errors and breakages

What you'll bring:

  • Driving Licence with less than 6 points*
  • Good data accuracy
  • Basic numeracy and IT skills
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety requirements (preferable)
