Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Working Hours: Any 5 from 7 | 7am-9am to 4pm-6pm

Location: Daventry, NN6 7GW

Are you experienced in transport planning and passionate about delivering efficient logistics solutions? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where problem-solving and operational excellence are key?

We're looking for a Transport Planner to create and manage effective transport plans, optimise vehicle and driver utilisation, and ensure customer service levels and network KPIs are consistently achieved. You'll play a critical role in driving efficiency, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining strong relationships across operations, suppliers, and customers.

A Typical Day May Involve

  • Plan and coordinate transport operations using TMS, including load building, route creation, and allocation of vehicles, trailers, and drivers.
  • Deliver transport plans within agreed deadlines while achieving utilisation, load fill, and service KPIs.
  • Monitor network performance, analyse operational data, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage subcontractor and agency relationships, including securing additional resources where required to meet demand.
  • Build strong relationships with transport sites, suppliers, customers, and operational teams to ensure service excellence and effective communication.

This Role Would Suit People Who

  • Someone with transport planning experience (essential) and a strong understanding of transport operations.
  • An analytical problem-solver who can make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
  • A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • An organised and disciplined individual with strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and transport management systems.
  • Someone with a good understanding of driver regulations and a flexible approach to support operational requirements when needed.
