Huntapac Produce Ltd is a fourth-generation family-owned business which was established in 1942. Nestled in a small village in the heart of Lancashire, we specialise in growing, packing and distributing a variety of root vegetables.
Supplying some of the major supermarkets in the UK as well as independent retailers, wholesalers, food service, caterers and food manufacturing sectors, our standards are consistently very high and a strong management team ensure these standards are maintained at all times. Family tradition and a commitment to quality are still as important today as they were 80 years ago. This heritage has passed down through generations of the Hunter family and ensures that Huntapac is supplying high quality produce whilst embracing a rapidly changing food market.
Responsibilities:
- Day to Day planning & routing of a fleet of up to 80 Tractor Units and 140 Refrigerated & Bulker Trailers
- Minimise empty running
- Effective planning of available labour & resource
- Liaise with Farm & Pack house Managers on a daily basis to cover Inbound traffic
- Liaise with the Despatch team on a daily basis to cover Outbound traffic
- Build & maintain relationships with external customers to maximise resource utilisation
- Ensure planning software is updated in real-time and kept in good order
- Comprehensive & Timely completion of all relevant administrative tasks
- Ensure drivers are fully Pre & De-Briefed in regards to their duties
- Complete random checks on drivers and fleet to ensure high standards of cleanliness & roadworthiness are maintained
- Liaise with service providers in the event of breakdowns
- Effective scheduling of work ensuring compliance with both vehicle (PMI/MOT) & tachograph legislation (EU Drivers’ Hours and the WTD)
- Open Accident and/or Motor Incident investigations and pass details to all relevant managers to follow up

- Excellent relationship and managerial skills
- Able to plan and organise workload, prioritise under pressure and delegate
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong organisational & Prioritisation skills
- Full knowledge of EU Driver Hours Rules and the Working Time Directive
- Conversant with current road transport legislation
Shift pattern is as follows:
With 1 hour unpaid lunch break
Working days: Tuesday - Saturday
- Tuesday - Friday: 11:00-20:00
- Saturday: 10:00-19:00
Salary
£30,000-£32,000 depended on skills and experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£32,500.00 per year
