Role Description

The Transport Planner will coordinate and schedule daily transport operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods to and from the Warrington site. This temporary, on-site role supported by the Transport Manager involves planning vehicle routes, managing transport schedules, and liaising with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to provide accurate information and resolve issues promptly. The Transport Planner will monitor transport performance, update systems and records, and adjust plans in response to changing volumes, priorities, and operational constraints.

  • Strong Transportation Planning and Transport Modelling skills to design efficient routes and optimize fleet utilization.
  • Experience in Transportation Management and Operations Management to oversee daily transport activities and support smooth logistics workflows.
  • Effective Communication skills to collaborate with drivers, internal teams, and external partners, and to handle queries and issue resolution clearly and professionally.
  • Previous experience in logistics, distribution, or transport planning, ideally within warehousing or FMCG environments.
  • Good numerical, analytical, and IT skills, including proficiency with transport or logistics planning software and MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge of UK road networks, relevant transport regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work on-site in Warrington, manage time effectively, and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or degree in logistics, supply chain, transport, or a related field is beneficial.
