Transport Planning Consultant

Location: Birmingham

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a growing and ambitious transport planning consultancy with the appointment of a Transport Planning Consultant to join their expanding Midlands office.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced transport planning professional to join a collaborative team and play an important role in the continued growth of the business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their technical skills, work on a diverse range of projects and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

The consultancy is looking for an ambitious individual with at least three years experience within transport planning, who is keen to develop their career and contribute to the growth of the Midlands team.

The Role:

  • Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
  • Supporting Team Leaders on a range of transport planning projects
  • Undertaking site visits and assisting with project delivery
  • Using industry-standard software including ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
  • Applying a strong understanding of UK transport planning standards and guidance
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders
  • Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Supporting business development and networking activities
  • Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Midlands office

About You:

  • A relevant degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • At least 3 years experience within a transport planning consultancy or related environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK transport planning principles and standards
  • Experience using ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
  • Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
  • Commercially aware with an ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Ambitious, proactive and keen to progress within a growing consultancy
