About The Role
We are looking for a proactive and organised Transport Planning Assistant to join our transport team at our Williton site. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with transport planning experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service while driving operational efficiency.
You will play a key role in planning transport operations, supporting distribution activities, managing customer expectations, and ensuring the smooth and cost-effective movement of products across the UK, EU and Rest of World (ROW) markets.

What You'll Be Doing
- Support the planning and coordination of all transport movements from the Williton site, including UK, EU and Rest of World deliveries.
- Ensure export documentation and customs requirements are fully compliant for international shipments.
- Provide planning support for other depots during periods of absence or annual leave.
- Work closely with the Customer Service team moving deliveries around to ensure optimum load utilisation.
- Assist in controlling transport costs, including driver wages, fuel expenditure and third-party haulage services.
- Support monthly reporting, KPI analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transport performance and reduce costs.
- Attend meetings to discuss and agree opportunities for improvements.
- Help ensure fleet compliance with CPC requirements, Operator Licence conditions and all relevant health and safety standards.
- Support the development of warehouses, distribution hubs and distribution networks to meet customer expectations at the lowest achievable cost.
- Develop a 'right first -time culture' in the distribution of our products and ensure maximum customer satisfaction through the service provided.
- Support the Transport Manager in managing the performance of our delivery partners through KPIs.
- Build strong relationships with delivery partners to secure competitive pricing and high service standards.
- Liaise with haulage companies to ensure timely collections and deliveries where applicable.
- Ensure all despatch paperwork, delivery notes and purchase orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with Sales, Production, Quality and Customer Service teams to ensure products are available and dispatched in line with OTIF targets.
- Maintain POD (Proof of Delivery) scanning and filing systems and support the business in identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Raise credit requests as required.
- Contact customers ahead of deliveries to confirm readiness and ensure a smooth delivery experience.
- Prepare end-of-month reports for the SOP.

What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Knowledge and experience of transport and route planning
- Strong IT experience including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- A motivated, proactive and results-driven attitude.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage conflicting demands and perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- The confidence to work independently, demonstrating initiative, resourcefulness and sound judgement.
- A people-focused approach, leading and acting with integrity, empathy and respect while building positive working relationships.
