Transport Regional General Manager
We are looking for a Transport Regional General Manager to join our M&S sites in Bradford, Daventry and Peterborough. You will be providing strategic leadership across a portfolio of transport operations. This is a highly visible role where you'll work through established Transport Managers and leadership teams, ensuring consistent standards, operational excellence and legal compliance across the region.
As the senior transport lead, you'll act as a trusted customer partner, driving performance, innovation and continuous improvement while safeguarding service, safety, compliance and commercial success. With responsibility for fleet strategy, governance and transport operations across multiple sites, you'll play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business and delivering long-term value for both GXO and our customer.
This is a full-time, permanent role, working predominately Monday to Friday but flexibility is required.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £105,000.00 per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead and deliver the regional transport strategy, ensuring alignment with customer objectives and wider business goals
- Oversee transport performance across multiple sites, monitoring service, compliance, productivity, KPIs and operational risk
- Act as the senior escalation point for significant transport, safety, customer, people and operational issues
- Manage regional budgets, forecasts and commercial performance, identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency
- Provide leadership, coaching and development to Transport Managers, building capability and succession across the region
- Drive fleet governance, ensuring vehicles and transport assets are legally compliant, operationally available and fit for purpose
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation and best practice by implementing scalable solutions across the transport network
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven senior leadership experience within multi-site transport, logistics or supply chain operations
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation, fleet compliance, operator licensing and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrable experience managing budgets, P&Ls, forecasting and contractual performance
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence customers, senior leaders and external bodies
- Strong leadership and people development capability, including coaching senior managers and succession planning
- Experience delivering large-scale change, continuous improvement and operational transformation initiatives
- Full UK Driving Licence and International Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
