About The Role
Based at Ditton, the Transport SAP Controller 2026 post is a full-time, temporary assignment paying £14 per hour, with paid breaks, across rotating shifts of 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00. The successful candidate maintains the SAP/DAS platform, recording amendments such as delays, cancellations and special deliveries, while creating trailer unit identifiers and booking appointments. Close liaison with operational colleagues ensures accurate, timely information supports inbound yard flow. Applicants should demonstrate strong system accuracy, confident coordination skills and the ability to manage several tasks at once. This office-based role offers a temporary-to-permanent route, commencing as soon as possible.

Role Summary
The Transport SAP Controller will be responsible for updating and maintaining the SAP/DAS system to ensure the efficient flow of yard management operations for inbound deliveries. This role requires close coordination with operational teams to provide accurate and timely information in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Update SAP with amendments, including delays, cancellations, and special deliveries.
- Manage Trailer Units (TUs) by creating IDs, assigning appointments, and uploading additional TUs as required.
- Monitor and coordinate deliveries for direct and indirect operations.
- Liaise with relevant departments regarding delivery issues and escalate operational inconsistencies where necessary.
- Maintain and arrange dock slots in line with operational requirements.
- Identify and report operational problems and delays, escalating complex issues to senior management.
- Resolve delivery issues, track delayed vehicles, and support service performance improvements.
- Ensure timely tracking of delayed vehicles entering the site.
- Maintain inbound service levels and operational standards.
- Adhere to company policies and legislation relating to health, safety, environment, and risk management.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience using SAP is essential.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a transport, logistics, or automotive environment.
