About the Role
As part of the Transport Services team, you will be joining a friendly dynamic team responsible for ensuring a high quality and efficient service is provided for Manchester University NHS FT as well as GP practices in the MFT catchment area. Along with completing transport tasks for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, the Transport Services team currently supports more than 100 GP practices across Greater Manchester, other NHS and non-NHS organisations with the collection and delivery of medicines, samples and medical equipment.
As a member of the MFT Transport Services Team you will be a first point of contact between NHS staff and GP surgeries, and as such will play a vital role in ensuring the needs of our service users are met.
Key Requirements
- A good standard of education (to GCSE level or equivalent)
- Full clean manual driver’s licence
- Methodical and organised
- Good communication skills
- Full in-service training will be provided
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility
- Accuracy to detail
- Evidence of working well in a team
Responsibilities
- Undertake driving duties, deliveries and collections of various cargoes and goods on a variety of routes
- Predominantly using small vans with occasional use of larger 3.5 Tonne vehicles
- Take responsible care for the health and safety of themselves and other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work
- Co-operate with the Trust to ensure that statutory and departmental safety regulations are adhered to

Development
- Supported throughout with regular reviews to help you develop appropriate knowledge and skill to enable personal development
- Required to complete regular driver risk assessments and driver training sessions and other mandatory trust training appropriate to your role
