We have an exciting opportunity to join our Ellesmere Port Distribution Centre as a Transport Shift Manager.
This role follows a 4 on 4 off pattern from 6pm - 6am.
You will be managing a team of drivers and clerical colleagues, motivating the team to ensure the transport operation hits its targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage a team of drivers and clerical colleagues to ensure they work within company guidelines.
- Monitor performance, ensuring the operation achieves high standards and hits KPI targets.
- Encourage two-way feedback and ideas aimed at improving work practices.
- Ensure compliance with the Road Traffic Act legislation, EU Drivers’ Hours Rules, and the Working Time Directive (RTD).
- Conduct effective, in-depth driver Pre-Briefs and De-Briefs at the start and end of every driver shift.
- Monitor performance, timekeeping, overtime, and sickness levels of drivers, taking appropriate action when necessary.
- Manage and maintain all yard operations, ensuring a team of shunters delivers an efficient and timely shunt/yard function.

What We Need From You
- Shift Manager experience within a Transport background is essential.
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and motivational skills.
- Previous retail customer experience is ideal.
- Energy, flexibility, and commitment to succeed in a challenging environment.
