Transport Shift Manager – Primark Contract, Thrapston
Full-time permanent position
About the Role
GXO is seeking a dynamic Transport Shift Manager to lead operations for the Primark contract in Thrapston. This role involves steering high-performance transport teams, prioritising safety, compliance, and efficiency, while driving operational excellence.
- Own a critical component of transport operations
- Lead from the front, delivering results through a strong, motivated team
- Champion a safety-first culture and continuous improvement
- Ensure seamless and efficient performance of the shift
Working Pattern:
- 5 days per week on the PM shift (14:00 – 22:00 shift pattern)
Responsibilities
On a typical day, you’ll be responsible for:
- Overseeing daily transport operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-performing execution
- Coaching and developing Team Leaders and team members to foster a high-performing culture
- Analysing and reporting on KPIs, service levels, and compliance metrics
- Managing resource allocation, problem-solving, and risk mitigation throughout the shift
- Driving accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across operations

Key Requirement(s)
To excel at GXO, you should:
- Have a strong grasp of transport compliance, safety standards, and operational best practices
- Demonstrate proven leadership experience in transport, logistics, or a similar environment
- Take ownership of performance management, data analysis, and influencing operational outcomes
- Be proactive, with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Excel at communication and team development
