Transport Shift Manager
Are you an experienced transport leader who thrives in a fast-paced logistics operation? Can you motivate teams to deliver outstanding service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance? Do you enjoy solving operational challenges and driving continuous improvement?
Join GXO as a Transport Shift Manager and take ownership of a busy transport operation supporting the Greene King contract. Leading a team of drivers, transport clerks and operational colleagues, you'll ensure deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time while maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced transport professional who enjoys developing people, managing performance and making a real impact within a fast-paced logistics environment.
This is a full-time permanent position working any ‘5 days from 7’ with working hours of: 05:00 -13:00 and 10:00 -18:00. There will be a requirement to work on some Saturdays.
Pay, benefits and more
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £42,000 per annum, and 33 days annual leave (bank holidays are a normal working day). What you’ll do on a typical day
- Lead the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring service and compliance targets are achieved
- Manage, coach and develop drivers and transport colleagues to maximise performance
- Monitor operational KPIs and take action to resolve issues and improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and Operator Licence requirements
- Work closely with planning, warehouse and customer teams to deliver operational excellence
What you need to succeed at GXO
- Previous experience managing transport operations within a fast-paced logistics environment
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation, Driver Hours Regulations and Operator Licence compliance
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and engage teams
- A proactive approach to problem solving, customer service and continuous improvement
- International CPC qualification, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent transport management experience
