Transport Supervisor

Yolk Recruitment are partnered with a successful and well-established food and drink manufacturer based near Hereford who have been making premium award-winning products since 1880.
They are searching for a Transport Supervisor to play a vital leadership role in keeping their operations running smoothly.
This is what you'll be doing:
- Supervise the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring products are delivered safely, on time and to the highest service standards.
- Lead and support the Transport Planning team, managing workloads, shift cover and performance while promoting a safety-first culture.
- Oversee route planning, fleet performance and resource allocation, proactively resolving operational issues and supporting warehouse loading activities.
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, driver hours and company policies, while supporting audits and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor transport KPIs, analyse operational performance and work with internal departments, drivers and the Transport Manager to drive continuous improvement.

The experience you'll need in this role:
- Previous experience supervising transport or logistics operations within a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of fleet operations, transport legislation, drivers' hours regulations and tachograph compliance.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, coach and develop transport planning teams.
- Experience monitoring operational performance, analysing KPIs and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and service levels.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across drivers, warehouse teams and internal departments.
