About the Role
Are you an experienced transport professional with a passion for leading people and delivering operational excellence?
Alloga, part of Cencora, is looking for a Transport Supervisor to join our Transport team in South Normanton. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient day-to-day operation of a busy transport function, ensuring customer deliveries are completed on time while supporting and developing teams across the operation.
You'll lead a team comprising Transport Clerks and a large driver workforce, helping to maintain exceptional service standards, drive performance and ensure full compliance with transport legislation and company procedures.
Location
South Normanton, Derbyshire
This is a fully onsite position and candidates should be able to reliably commute to the site.
Salary
£35,465.64 per annum
Hours / Shift Pattern
40 hours per week
Rotating shift pattern:
- 06:00 - 14:00
- 14:00 - 22:00
Flexibility to work both shifts is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily transport operations and driver activities.
- Lead and support a team of Transport Clerks and a large driver workforce.
- Dispatch and debrief drivers, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
- Monitor delivery performance and respond effectively to operational issues, including delays, route changes, refusals and vehicle breakdowns.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, Operator Licence requirements and transport legislation.
- Conduct driver briefings, one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Support employee relations activities, including investigations, attendance management and performance discussions.
- Monitor vehicle compliance and temperature-controlled transport requirements, investigating any exceptions.
- Support driver training, wellbeing and development initiatives.
- Manage customer service issues, incidents and accidents in a professional and timely manner.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service performance and cost control.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience within a transport, logistics or distribution operation.
- Experience supervising or leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong people management skills, including coaching, performance management and employee relations.
- Good understanding of transport operations and service delivery.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good computer literacy and experience using operational systems.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Stable employment history demonstrating commitment and reliability.
Desirable
- CPC qualification or CPC knowledge.
- Experience working within a regulated distribution, healthcare, pharmaceutical or temperature-controlled logistics environment.
- Knowledge of transport compliance, driver regulations and fleet management.
