We're currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our operation. You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the morning transport operation, supporting our drivers and operational teams while delivering exceptional service to our customers. This role works Monday 04:00-12:30 and Tuesday-Friday 05:00-13:30, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a growing and dynamic business.
Pay, Benefits And More
We're looking to offer a salary of £33,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You'll have access to a variety of high street discounts as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.
What You'll Do On a Typical Day
- Manage the AM transport operation and ensure customer requirements are consistently met
- Support, coach and develop Debrief Clerks, Shunters and Drivers
- Plan and organise resources effectively to ensure all runs are covered efficiently
- Liaise with Customer Services and Planning teams to resolve operational issues and maintain service levels
- Manage Time & Attendance processes and respond to related employee queries
- Raise purchase orders and support defect-related administration processes
- Produce daily operational and performance reports for key stakeholders
- Monitor vehicle availability and utilisation to maximise fleet efficiency
- Support employee development and identify training requirements across the operation
- Ensure compliance with Driver Hours regulations, Working Time Directive requirements, transport legislation and company procedures
- Conduct licence checks and maintain high operational and compliance standards
- Support investigations, return-to-work interviews and disciplinary processes where required
- Ensure effective communication across the operation and provide clear shift handovers

What You Need To Succeed At XPO
- Previous experience supervising or leading teams within a transport, logistics or operational environment
- A good understanding of transport compliance, driver hours legislation and operational best practice
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders
- Experience producing reports and working with operational KPIs would be advantageous
- A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering outstanding customer service
