Role Overview

We are recruiting a Transport Supervisor to join our Letchworth team. This operational leadership role involves coordinating daily transport activities, supporting drivers and branch teams, and ensuring customer deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time. The successful candidate will be organised, safety conscious and customer focused, with the ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining high standards of compliance, vehicle care and service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily transport operation from the Letchworth branch, ensuring delivery schedules, customer time windows and vehicle availability are managed effectively.
  • Plan and allocate delivery routes, vehicles and drivers to support efficient transport operations and minimise delays or unnecessary mileage.
  • Supervise, support and communicate with HGV and delivery drivers, providing clear instructions and responding promptly to operational issues.
  • Monitor driver performance, working hours, breaks and compliance with relevant legal and company requirements, including drivers’ hours and Driver CPC obligations.
  • Ensure vehicles and HIAB equipment are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard, with daily checks completed and defects reported and followed up through the correct channels.
  • Coordinate loading and delivery activities with the yard and branch teams, ensuring goods are loaded safely, accurately and securely for transit.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, transport providers and internal teams to resolve delivery queries, site restrictions, shortages, damages and delays professionally.
  • Track deliveries and maintain accurate transport records, including delivery paperwork, electronic proof of delivery, vehicle documentation and driver information.
  • Ensure all transport activities comply with company health and safety procedures, risk assessments, site rules and relevant transport legislation.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, near misses, vehicle defects and customer complaints, supporting appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitor transport costs, vehicle utilisation and service levels, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide operational cover and support during busy periods, holidays and unexpected absences, working collaboratively with neighbouring branches where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
