We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Supervisor (Nights) to join our busy transport operation at our Crewe Depot.

About the Role

As a Transport Supervisor (Nights), you will support the Transport and Compliance Managers in the effective running of the night shift transport operation. You'll work closely with our driver teams, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient dispatch of vehicles while maintaining the highest standards of operational performance.

This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in driver management, legal compliance, fleet maintenance coordination, and health and safety activities across the site.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Ensuring all workers remain fully compliant with legislative and company requirements.
  • Conducting driver briefings and debriefings to ensure instructions for allocated runs are understood and actioned.
  • Reviewing driver daily vehicle check sheets and ensuring all defects, damage, and incidents are reported and addressed appropriately.
  • Ensuring all new drivers, including permanent and agency staff, are licence checked, assessed, and fully inducted prior to their first shift.
  • Downloading and managing digital tachograph data at the start and end of each shift.
  • Monitoring vehicle maintenance schedules, service planners, and Vehicle Off Road (VOR) statuses to ensure fleet compliance and availability.
  • Completing Health & Safety activities including yard walks, vehicle inspections, and compliance checks.
  • Supporting the Transport Manager to achieve operational and service performance targets.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience collating and analysing driver-related reports, including digital tachograph and compliance data.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements for transport operations and drivers.
  • Experience in transport, logistics, or fleet operations.
  • Strong route planning, route optimisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) such as Isotrak, Tachomaster, Ortec, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.
