At Lineage, helping to feed the world is more than a job – it’s a purpose we live every day. Lineage is the world’s largest and most innovative provider of temperature-controlled logistics solutions.

We are currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our Transport team at Hams Hall. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in getting things right and wants to play an active role in making transport operations run smarter, safer and more efficiently.

If you’re someone who spots an opportunity to improve a process rather than simply follow it, enjoys working with people and thrives on keeping an operation moving, we’d love to hear from you.

Shift Available: Sunday to Thursday Nights 22:00 - 06:00
Salary: Salary Negotiable

The role

In this role you will work closely with the Transport Manager to keep our operation running safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll be a key point of contact for our drivers and will help ensure we deliver the service our customers expect.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Allocate drivers effectively, making sure the right resources are in place to deliver the operation successfully.
  • Complete driver wages and holiday administration accurately and on time.
  • Monitor drivers’ daily activity, including unauthorised stops, and ensure all driver paperwork is completed fully and accurately.
  • Assist with agency bookings, costings and spend, ensuring agency disclaimers are completed, accurate and correctly filed.
  • Monitor driver infringements, ensuring they are printed, understood, discussed and signed by drivers.
  • Input and monitor driver working time and Driving Time Directive information using Excel, identifying issues and taking action where required.
  • Deliver training and support to drivers using electronic driver pads, helping colleagues get the most from our technology and systems.
  • Coordinate vehicle inspections and MOTs both internally and externally, ensuring vehicles remain compliant and available for operation.
  • Monitor and report vehicle defects, ensuring issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
  • Report RTA’s and near misses accurately and support a proactive approach to transport safety.
  • Order site fuel and monitor requirements to help keep the operation running without disruption.
  • Work collaboratively with your peers across the transport network, sharing ideas and best practice to improve performance and deliver an excellent service to our customers.
  • Look for opportunities to improve the way we work, challenge inefficient processes and bring a positive, solutions-focused approach to the operation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Who we're looking for:

  • Someone with previous transport supervision or transport operational experience who is ready to take the next step or make their mark in a busy transport environment.
  • Someone who takes pride in getting things right first time – attention to detail is essential.
  • Experience managing drivers’ hours and transport legislation.
  • A confident communicator who can communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, colleagues and key stakeholders in English.
  • Experience with Transport Management Systems would be helpful, but a willingness to learn, use initiative and embrace new ways of working will take you far in our ambitious team.
  • A target-focused individual who is comfortable working to tight deadlines, prioritising effectively and getting things done.
  • A genuine team player who enjoys working collaboratively and is willing to challenge the way things are done when there’s a better solution.
  • Good IT skills are essential, particularly in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Above all else, you’ll share our determination to keep our customers and colleagues happy. A can-do attitude, strong organisation skills and brilliant communication are essential to success in this role.

What's In It For You?

  • Permanent opportunity with a direct employer – we won’t hire you through a recruitment agency.
  • Career development opportunities within a global market-leading business.
  • Opportunity to earn an additional day's holiday each year, up to the maximum of one extra week for length of service.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • Employee Assistance Programme with access to 24/7 confidential counselling and support.
  • Preferential rates for loans and savings offered through exclusive access to a credit union.
  • Be part of a business that plays a vital role in feeding communities across the UK.
