Job Summary
The Logistics Supervisor will oversee a safe and high-quality service in line with Trust standards and be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people internally within the Trust and also with external partners of the organisation, including Senior Trust Managers. The post holder will support the Assistant Facilities Manager and Facilities Manager in delivering safe and effective Transport services for the Estates and Facilities function.
- Overseeing day to day supervision of the Logistics teams which comprises of post, transport and waste services.
- To assist and contribute to the delivery of a professional and customer focused service to all users across Trust sites working to standards laid down in Trust policies, Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions and Transport legislation to provide a safe environment for patients.
- To facilitate the collection of urgent response Specimens from Operating Theatres to Pathology Labs, Bulk Case Notes, Patients Meals, routine Specimens & Blood Products.
- Also the movement of staff (Bus Services) between main and peripheral sites in a coordinated and consistently professional manner.

Qualifications And Training
Formal Qualifications (CSE/GCSE)
- Current Clean Driving Licence
- Up to date and valid UK compatible Vocational driver licence class B, C and class D. Blue light response training.
- Up to date and valid UK compatible Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence Bus & Trucks)
- Ability to communicate both verbally and by reading and writing
- Experience of dealing with Staff & the Public In sometimes difficult situations
- Experience in a supervisory role
- The Application of Transport/Driving Legislation and their effects on the service
- To understand Traffic and Transport Laws and the requirements of service users.
- Knowledge of Waste Regulations and associated statutory requirements.
