PURPOSE
To provide a safe and secure transport service for vulnerable adults and children in a dignified manner. VCare24 offers a bespoke service to our clients to meet each individual’s requirements. Our Secure transport service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and operates nationwide.
Principal Accountabilities
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people and/or vulnerable adults.
- Comply with statutory obligations as per CQC Regulations, Quality Standards, Health and Social Care Act 2008, OFSTED, Mental Health Act 1983, and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Follow VCare24’s Policies and Procedures at all times.
- Understand, record, and utilize the computerized and manual filing systems (e.g., Halo, Microsoft).
- Be available for transport duties in accordance with your assigned shift pattern.
- 2-on, 3-off shift pattern: Staff on this rota must reside within 30 minutes of their designated place of work to ensure availability when scheduled.
- 4-day, 10-hour shift pattern: This rota involves working four 10-hour days per week, with varying start and end times that rotate weekly.
- Provide a safe and dignified transport service, including:
- Transporting patients under the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Placement transfers/supervised contacts.
- Transport of young people with a high risk of absconding/violent or aggressive behavior.
- Court appearances.
- Transport of informal patients.
- Transport of Dementia and older patients.
- Provide accurate information and assist in maintaining up-to-date, accurate, and quality data in order to provide feedback to clients.
- Ensure all vehicle safety checks are undertaken prior to conveyance and documented.
- Participate in personal development by attending and contributing to staff meetings, supervision sessions, training courses, and other departmental forums. Keep abreast of developments within the profession.
- Refer to line management/safeguarding officer upon any concerns, suspicions, evidence, or allegations in relation to child protection in accordance with Children and vulnerable adults Safeguarding Board guidelines to ensure the safety and welfare of the children and vulnerable adults.
- Be flexible to ensure the operational needs of VCare24 are met. This includes undertaking duties of a similar nature and responsibility as required, throughout the various workplaces within VCare24.
- Provide accurate information and assist in maintaining up-to-date, accurate, and quality data on the Clientbridge and jot forms system with reference to case recording and all relevant information where appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality within the workplace and ensure all sensitive information is correctly stored (e.g., locked cabinets, under password protection, security bags, etc.).

Requirements
- 40-hour per week contract.
- Shift pattern as outlined above.
- Any overtime will be paid additionally.
- Full in-depth 10-day induction training regime (both practical and theoretical work).
- Full driving license.
- Over the age of 21 (for insurance purposes).
- No more than 3 points on the license.
- A full Enhanced DBS will be completed.
