Job Description

The Transportation Coordinator is a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain industry. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods from suppliers to customers, ensuring that shipments are timely, cost-effective, and meet all necessary regulations. Transportation Coordinators play a key role in optimizing transportation routes and ensuring the smooth flow of products through the supply chain.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and optimize transportation routes for shipments.
  • Select suitable carriers, such as trucking companies, freight forwarders, or courier services.
  • Monitor and track shipments in real-time to ensure they are on schedule and address any potential issues or delays.
  • Prepare and manage all necessary shipping and customs documentation.
  • Manage transportation budgets, work to minimize shipping costs.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to provide shipment updates.
  • Ensure all shipments adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Analyze transportation data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A focus on meeting customer needs and ensuring satisfaction with timely and accurate deliveries.
