Alexander Steele are delighted to be supporting an FMCG business with the recruitment of a newly created Logistics & Transport Manager position.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business and take ownership of the logistics operation, leading a team of drivers and logistics professionals while driving service, efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop the Logistics and Driving teams.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, training and performance.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and on-time delivery performance.
  • Oversee route planning, resource allocation and operational scheduling.
  • Manage fleet standards, vehicle compliance and health & safety requirements.
  • Monitor and improve key logistics KPIs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the operation.
  • Build strong working relationships across the wider business to enhance operational performance.

  • Proven experience within Logistics, Transport or Distribution Management.
  • Previous experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong understanding of route planning, fleet management and operational logistics.
  • A hands-on leader who enjoys being close to the operation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Transport, FMCG, food manufacturing or distribution experience would be advantageous.
