TRAVEL CONSULTANT / SENIOR TRAVEL SPECIALIST HERTFORDSHIRE — OFFICE BASED - 3 DAYS PER WEEK - FLEXIBLE HOURS

Senior Travel Consultant job in Hertfordshire within the leisure travel industry, offering a competitive salary plus bonus. This is a client-facing role, building lasting relationships, designing bespoke itineraries and supporting the wider team, with flexibility on full-time or part-time hours.

Our Customer
Our client is a well-established travel business known for creating tailor-made journeys for its clients. They pride themselves on building long-term relationships and providing a personalised service that keeps clients coming back. They are now seeking a Senior Travel Consultant to join their team, helping to grow the client base through strong destination knowledge, relationship management and a proactive approach to business development.
The Role
In this role, you will build and manage a portfolio of clients, creating bespoke itineraries and providing expert travel advice from first enquiry through to their return home.
- Design bespoke itineraries tailored to each client’s needs and preferences
- Build long-term client relationships that generate repeat bookings and referrals
- Provide expert destination advice across one or more specialist areas
- Manage enquiries and follow-ups in a timely, organised manner
- Share knowledge and support less experienced members of the team
- Maintain contact with clients before, during and after their trip
- Develop relationships with preferred suppliers to secure the best options for clients
- Identify relevant upselling opportunities, such as transfers and parking
- Keep window displays and marketing materials up to date
- Attend local networking events to help build the client base

Experience Required
- 2+ years’ experience in a client-facing travel consultant role
- Proven ability to build a client base through referrals and repeat business
- Strong destination knowledge in one or more specialist areas, e.g. cruise, long haul, skiing or safari
- Confident using travel booking systems and CRM tools
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable managing enquiries, itineraries and after-sales support
- Extensive personal travel experience
