Company

The Assistance Travel team provides travel services to International SOS Assistance Centres for members being transported/medically evacuated and to Site Liaison officers, who are requesting assistance for travel requests for Medical Cases and Medical Services.

As a Travel Consultant you will offer expert travel guidance and support to all concerned Assistance Centres operations teams who are requesting assistance for travel requests from clients or medics. You will provide the most logical quotations and ticketing issuance support; respond to any changes needed and check that all the required documents have been provided and submitted to the relevant commercial carriers.

The Role

  • Assist the Group Operations Travel Manager and Regional Travel Managers to facilitate transition on new booking tools and internal organization.
  • Creating and providing the quickest routes and most cost-effective itineraries meeting as close as possible to the initial travel request.
  • Establish quotations and proposals for several alternatives.
  • Coordinate travel for multiple passengers and escorts travelling from different origins/destinations.
  • Re-price and recalculate for exchanges to process reissued tickets.
  • Establish or order plane and train tickets and hotels reservations.
  • Achieve relevant objectives as outlined by Manager.
  • Assist with visa entry requirements advice and forward to partners.
  • Invoice all tickets issued and be responsible for back-office services, ticket amendments and refunds.
  • Follow the guidelines for the operations of the Assistance Travel Centre.
  • Monitor, manage and action queues in Amadeus.
  • Facilitate effective positive teamwork and clear channels of communication both internally and externally.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day work allocations and staffing of the business.
  • Assist on training of new hires on Travel policies and travel booking tools.
  • Undertaking project work or reasonable duties as requested by the Group Travel Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Excellent working knowledge of a GDS system essential, preferably AMADEUS.
  • Fares and Ticketing experience essential, such as IATA Fares certificates 1 & 2 ideally.
  • Good worldwide geography knowledge and very keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent telephone manner and customer service background.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and the capacity to handle a large number of complex travel requests.
  • Flexibility to be able to work additional hours in the event of a crisis or major evacuation support required.
  • Solid experience gained in business travel experience required.
  • High level of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent in English and any additional languages are an advantage (French or Spanish).

  • Some travel required, upon request of the business - if support is required in any other Assistance Centre location.
  • Full time Shifts: Monday - Sunday 7am - 9pm (5 days per week) rotating at weekends.
