Travel Consultant Assistant

Job Overview We are looking for an organised and customer-focused Travel Consultant Assistant to support travel consultants with customer enquiries, travel research, itinerary preparation, bookings, and day-to-day administrative tasks. This role is suitable for candidates who are interested in developing a career in the travel and tourism industry. Previous travel experience is beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Travel Consultants with customer enquiries and travel arrangements.
- Research destinations, hotels, flights, tours, and travel experiences.
- Help prepare personalised itineraries and travel proposals.
- Assist with bookings, reservations, amendments, and cancellations.
- Maintain accurate customer information, booking details, and travel documentation.
- Communicate with hotels, airlines, tour operators, and travel suppliers when required.
- Provide customers with basic information about travel arrangements and services.
- Assist with preparing quotations, presentations, and travel-related documents.
- Follow up on customer enquiries and outstanding booking requirements.
- Support the team with administrative and organisational tasks.
- Keep travel information and product details up to date.
- Monitor travel trends, destinations, and new travel products.

Requirements
- Interest in travel, tourism, hospitality, or customer service.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Customer-focused and professional approach.
- Comfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, and online platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous travel, tourism, administration, or customer service experience is beneficial but not essential.

Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of UK and international travel destinations.
- Familiarity with travel booking or reservation systems.
- Experience with CRM or customer management platforms.
- Good research and itinerary-planning skills.
- Knowledge of hotels, airlines, tour operators, cruises, or travel packages.
- Previous experience in a travel agency or tourism environment is advantageous.
