TRAVEL SALES CONSULTANT / TRAVEL CONSULTANT
Hertfordshire — Office Based, Full Time
£26,000 + Commission (OTE £30,000)
Travel Sales Consultant job in Hertfordshire within the tour operator sector, offering £26,000 plus commission with realistic first-year on-target earnings of £30,000. Our Customer
Our client is a successful and expanding UK tour operator, selling tailor-made holidays direct to the consumer from their offices in Hertfordshire. Well established in the leisure travel market, they are known for planning trips built on genuine destination knowledge and a strong understanding of what their clients want.
As part of a continued growth programme, they are now looking to add a Travel Sales Consultant to their team, focused on South East Asia. This is an opportunity to build a specialism in this destination, working closely with colleagues and management to support the company’s ongoing success.
The Role
In this role, you will manage the full sales journey for clients travelling across South East Asia, from first enquiry through to a confirmed, tailor-made booking.
- Handle client enquiries by telephone, understanding their needs and travel style
- Plan and put together tailor-made holiday itineraries across South East Asia
- Use product knowledge and personal travel experience to recommend the right holiday
- Meet individual and company sales and profit targets
- Build lasting client relationships that lead to repeat and referral business
- Work closely with colleagues and management to support the wider team’s success
- Build destination knowledge on an ongoing basis through training and fam trips

Experience Required
- Strong first-hand knowledge of South East Asia, or a genuine drive to build it quickly
- A natural affinity with people and a willingness to help
- A confident, persuasive telephone manner
- Self-motivated with a clear desire to succeed
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Degree-level education, or relevant sales or travel industry experience
No previous travel industry experience? Full product and destination training is provided, making this a strong first step into a travel sales career.
