About the role

Pay: £42,000.00 per year

Please note: Due to the service requirements of this role, applicants must already have recognised Travel Health training/qualifications and practical Travel Health experience.

As part of our continued growth at TAC Healthcare Group, our Occupational Health business area has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Travel Health Nurse to join our team in Aberdeen.

You will be responsible for delivering a safe, professional and comprehensive travel health service in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice.

The role will involve assessing individual travel health requirements, administering vaccinations and providing clear, evidence-based advice to patients travelling internationally.

We are open to applications from nurses seeking either part-time hours or flexible bank work.

What you will do

  • Undertake comprehensive travel health consultations and individual risk assessments.
  • Provide advice on recommended and required vaccinations, malaria prevention and other travel-related health risks.
  • Administer travel vaccinations and medications in line with current clinical guidance, Patient Group Directions and TAC Healthcare procedures.
  • Provide patients with clear advice on infection prevention, food and water safety, insect-bite avoidance and managing existing health conditions while travelling.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Ensure vaccines are stored, handled and administered safely, including compliance with cold-chain requirements.
  • Monitor vaccine supplies, stock levels and expiry dates.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel health guidance, vaccination schedules and emerging international health risks.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider clinical and administrative teams to provide a high-quality patient experience.
  • Escalate any clinical concerns appropriately and work within your professional competence.

About you

  • Nursing and Midwifery Council Registered Nurse - Adult or equivalent.
  • Recognised travel health training or qualification.
  • Previous experience delivering travel health consultations and vaccinations.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Confident providing clear and practical health advice to patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to the wider clinical team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate clinical records.
  • Knowledge of current vaccination guidance, Patient Group Directions and cold-chain requirements.
  • Ability to travel when required and a full UK driving licence would be beneficial.

Experience in occupational health, audiometry, spirometry or undertaking nurse-led offshore medical assessments would be beneficial, but is not essential.
