We have an exciting opportunity to join our team of Travel Safety Officers
Station: St Albans -
pay rate: £13.75

What You Need
- SIA Licence - Door supervisor
- The ability to get to the sites with no issues.
- A positive mindset
- The ability to deal with stressful environments and conflict.
- The ability to follow procedures.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- To know how to or be willing to learn how to complete logbooks.
- A smart appearance with excellent hygiene
- To be reliable with excellent time-management skills
- The ability to work well in a team and with other organisations

Your Role As A Travel Safety Officer Will Be
- To be present on stations, trains, identified locations and defined areas to deter crime, trespass & antisocial behaviour. Static & Mobile teams will be deployed in pairs.
- Responding to any incidents, and emergencies & report incidents to Route Control & British Transport Police.
- During patrols, identify and verbally engage with distressed and vulnerable people and, if possible, help them to a position of safety and then complete a handover to station staff and/or British Transport Police.
- The teams will be endeavouring to reduce inappropriate behaviour on and around the train stations & trains also dealing with members of the public acting inappropriately next to the train tracks.
- The teams will be endeavouring to reduce trespass, fare evasion & suicidal incidents, whilst providing excellent customer service and a high visibility presence to provide greater customer & staff confidence.
- Staff need to have excellent communication skills and be conversant in radio protocol.
- Able to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office is a benefit.
