Team Leader – Africa
London/Hybrid
Up to £40,000 Plus Commission
The Team Leader – Africa will be responsible for leading, developing, and supporting a high-performing team across the African region. The role will oversee day-to-day activities, drive regional performance, maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure that business objectives are consistently achieved.
The successful candidate will combine strong leadership and people-management skills with a solid understanding of the African market. They will be commercially focused, highly organised, and comfortable working across multiple countries, cultures, and business environments.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing regional team.
- Set clear objectives, priorities, and performance expectations.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and team meetings.
- Identify training and development needs and support individual career progression.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
- Manage performance issues fairly and effectively.

Regional Management
- Take ownership of performance and activity across the African region.
- Develop and implement regional plans aligned with wider business objectives.
- Monitor market developments, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for growth across existing and new African markets.
- Ensure consistent processes, standards, and best practices across the region.
- Provide regular reporting and insight to senior management.
Commercial / Business Development
- Drive revenue, growth, or other agreed commercial targets across the region.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, agents, and other key stakeholders.
- Support the identification and development of new business opportunities.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a high level of customer service and delivery.
- Negotiate and manage commercial relationships where appropriate.

Operational & Compliance Responsibilities
- Ensure the team operates in line with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Monitor regional activity and ensure appropriate documentation and reporting.
- Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Promote high standards of professionalism, integrity, and compliance.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in a team leadership or management position or wanting to step up to a Team Leader
- Experience working across African markets or with African customers/partners.
- Strong understanding of regional business and cultural environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commercial and relationship-management capabilities.
Package
- Salary up to £40,000 Plus Commission
- Hybrid working in London - 2 days in office
- Opportunities to travel to Africa
