Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust (YDRT) is part of the wider Rivers Trust movement, a united network of like-minded organisations that work together to create meaningful and lasting change for our natural environment.

Their vision is: wild, healthy, natural rivers valued by all. In the last few years, the trust has experienced significant growth. By diversifying their income and strengthening their team they have the capability to deliver meaningful environmental outcomes across Yorkshire.
At a pivotal point, as they begin to deliver their new 2026-2030 Strategic Plan, we are delighted to be working with them to recruit a Treasurer to join the Board of Trustees.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the YDRT team of trustees. The role is integral to their strategic leadership. As Treasurer you will be responsible for the charity’s finances, providing oversight to ensure decisions are robust and remain resilient in an increasingly complex funding world.
The main responsibilities include:
- Developing and overseeing all financial affairs
- Ensuring financial measures, controls and procedures are in place
- Working closely with the Chair, CEO, Finance Manager, and fellow Trustees to safeguard the Trust’s financial sustainability and support the delivery of its charitable objectives.
- Providing strategic financial leadership to the Board and ensuring that the Trust complies with all relevant legal, regulatory and financial obligations.
The Person
We are looking for someone whose personal values align with YDRT and their mission. A passion for protecting and enhancing the rivers, streams and catchments of the Yorkshire Dales is essential.
You must have a professional accounting qualification or equivalent financial experience to apply for this position. You should also have a commitment to good governance, have integrity, sound judgement and the ability to work collaboratively.
Communication skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to explain financial matters to non-financial audiences are essential to the role.
