The role
The Treasurer will be accountable for the Bank’s foreign exchange, money markets and off-balance sheet trading, and contribute substantially to bank wide balance sheet management and strategy. As Treasurer, you'll be responsible for documenting and developing a full range of Shariah compliant Treasury products for Europe, MENA, and SE Asian markets whilst maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of Treasury tools, including awareness of the latest technologies.
What you'll be doing
- ILAAP & Stress Testing: Own and maintain the Bank’s ILAAP, ensuring regulatory compliance, robust stress testing and clear reporting to ALCO
- Liquidity Contingency Planning: Lead the development, testing and ongoing maintenance of the Liquidity Contingency Plan, aligned to the ILAAP and Recovery & Resolution Plan
- Liquidity & Asset Buffer: Oversee the Bank’s liquid asset buffer, ensuring it remains appropriate in terms of size, quality and regulatory requirements
- Liquidity Risk Management: Act as 1st Line of Defence for Treasury liquidity and gap risk, ensuring a robust risk framework and effective management of Treasury investments
- ALCO & Governance: Play a key role on ALCO, providing Treasury expertise, escalating key risks and ensuring timely resolution of issues
- Policies & Controls: Own and maintain Treasury policies, procedures and manuals, ensuring they remain current, embedded and audit-ready
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Risk, Finance, senior management and the Board to identify, assess and manage Treasury risks
- Budget Management: Manage Treasury expenditure within agreed budgets and ensure effective financial control

SMCR: This role is in-scope of the Regulators’ Senior Manager and Certification Regime. As such the jobholder will be assessed and certified annually. The role as the Treasurer is a certified function, therefore will be required to maintain levels of fitness & propriety to meet regulatory requirements.
What we're looking for
- Extensive Treasury operations experience, ideally within a regulated banking environment
- Strong GCC & emerging markets knowledge, with existing regional exposure preferred
- Proven ALM expertise, including liquidity and balance sheet management
- Strong knowledge of Treasury products, instruments and market developments
- Highly analytical and numerate, with strong financial modelling capabilities
- Advanced Excel skills, particularly for liquidity modelling and analysis
- Established counterparty banking relationships and strong market connectivity
- Proven team leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop Treasury professionals
Please note - the position is office based with a Hybrid Working policy with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week.
