As our Treasurer, you will help us build the financial management systems that underpin everything we do, from demonstrating our impact to funders, to empowering our team in Rwanda to run their programmes independently. • UK Gift Aid

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What will you be doing?

Children of Rwanda is a locally-owned and led nonprofit committed to breaking the cycle of poverty in Western Rwanda through the power of education. Registered as an NGO in both Rwanda and Scotland, we create sustainable access to education for children by building family financial resilience. Accessing education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty that currently traps thousands of families in Western Rwanda.

Why is this important?

Proper financial management systems are a prerequisite for accountability in the international development sector. Without them, we cannot demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of our projects, which limits our ability to raise funds and, in turn, our ability to reach the children we exist to help.

Strong financial systems are also fundamental to our localisation strategy as we build a more self-reliant team in Rwanda, they need robust budgeting and reporting processes they can own and run independently.

What would you be doing?

We have made great progress in recent years building the capacity of our team in Rwanda, including their financial management, and we are excited to take the next step in this process.

As our Treasurer, you would oversee our accounts, budgeting tools and reporting processes, ensure we meet our reporting requirements in the UK, and support our team in Rwanda to continue improving their financial management systems. You would also be part of our Finance and Risk Subcommittee, working closely with other trustees and management.

As a Trustee of Children of Rwanda UK, you would also take an active role on the Board, providing leadership and direction across the charity's activities, and comply with the expectations and laws set by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
