Ring20 are seeking a suitable candidate to replace our current Treasurer.

Depending on experience and desire, there is scope for the candidate to become a Trustee.

What difference will you make?

The role is key to maintaining our small charity’s governance processes and procedures, allowing us to expand our service capabilities reaching out to those with this ultra-rare disease providing hope for the future.

A good Treasurer would ensure that the financial health of the charity is maintained.

What are we looking for?

Required Skills And Experience

  • Excellent book keeping skills (QBO experience preferred)
  • Qualified Accountant and/or professional Bookkeeper (preferable)
  • Experience of filing returns for small (or medium sized) charities (preferable)
  • Self-motivated, able to work under own initiative with limited supervision
  • Experience of handling legal matters (desirable)

Well-qualified candidates will have experience of finance and accounts duties and a reasonable track record of success. Strong accounting skills, good verbal communication and the ability to interact at management level are other key qualifications. An interest in the promotion of medical advancement and helping those in need would be an advantage.

What will you be doing?

A role responsible for the financial affairs of the charity. The role will include banking, book keeping, preparing quarterly and year-end accounts, submissions to HMRC and Charities Commission and annual insurance renewals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ring20 is seeking a new Treasurer to assist with a variety of tasks relating to financial matters.
  • The volunteer will ideally work from home using their own personal computer, but would be in regular contact with the Trustees, reporting to Trustees.
  • The Treasurer will be required to
    • manage payments and receipts, recording and reconciling against the bank account, copying/filing invoices
    • produce quarterly and year-end accounts
    • produce financial forecasts and budgets for projects
    • submit returns to Charities Commission and OSCR annually
    • submit returns to HMRC annually e.g. Corporation Tax
    • submit gift aid/GASDS claims

The Treasurer should have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role and a track record of appropriate success.

This is an ongoing role, which we estimate to require about one to three days per month, subject of discussion.
