What will you be doing?
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the charity’s financial health, income, expenditure, cash flow, and reserves.
- Ensure accurate financial records and bookkeeping are maintained.
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets with the trustees.
- Present clear financial reports at trustee meetings.
- Ensure funds are used only for the charity’s charitable purposes.
- Monitor restricted funds, grants, and donor-designated income.
- Help develop financial plans to support sustainability and growth.
- Oversee banking arrangements, payments, and authorised signatories.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls to reduce risk and prevent fraud.
- Coordinate preparation of annual accounts for submission to our Chartered Accountants for audit and onwarding filing to the Charity Commission.
- Ensure statutory filings and returns are submitted on time.
- Liaise with accountants, auditors, or independent examiners where required.

Trustee Responsibilities
Although the Treasurer leads on finance, all trustees share collective responsibility for the charity’s finances, governance, and decision-making.
