ABOUT THE TEAM
You'll join JSM's Finance function at our Potters Bar Head Office. This is a build role — you'll take ownership of Group treasury end to end (cash and liquidity, banking relationships, funding and covenant compliance) and build out the Group's treasury structure, including cash pooling, across the UK, Europe, Middle East and India.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Owns Group treasury operations end to end — cash and liquidity, banking relationships, funding and covenant compliance — and builds out the Group's treasury structure, including cash pooling, across the UK, Europe, ME and India.
Day to day, you will:
Treasury Operations & Structure
- Own day-to-day administration of the Group's bond and guarantee facilities and covenant / leverage monitoring
- Own leverage calculations, including forecasts, ensuring compliance within agreed limits
- Manage Hire Purchase funding agreements
- Manage intercompany loans and trading balances, including intercompany interest calculations and month-end cash settlements
- Manage the transfer pricing policy, ensuring intercompany invoices are raised and cash flow moves effectively around the Group
- Assess currency hedging needs for contracts with material foreign currency exposure, per the Accounting Manual's foreign currency policy
- Establish and streamline treasury-specific operations, processes and procedures across the UK, Europe, ME and India
- Implement cash pooling across Group entities, including structure design, bank implementation and ongoing operation
- Lead treasury control structure projects, including the implementation and enhancement of a treasury management / banking and payments solution
Cash & Liquidity Management
- Manage cash and liquidity through cash flow analysis, planning and forecasting, improving the DSO / DPO balance, credit control and reviewing funding needs
- Produce actuals and forecast cash reporting
- Manage FX and interest rate risk across the Group
- Ensure the timely execution of payments, adhering to strict cut-off times
Banking Relationships & Financial Risk
- Manage banking relationships: act as main point of contact, open and close bank accounts, review access and signatory rights, manage corporate credit cards, and map, improve and manage bank costs
- Coordinate and evaluate new banking counterparties
- Work closely with the business to minimise financial risk, including responsibility for bank guarantees and letters of credit
- Ensure successful completion of all KYC, FATCA / CRS, AML and UBO reporting requests
- Monitor compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. EMIR)

Reporting & Controls
- Oversee treasury-related reporting as a contribution to the month-end close
- Own bank reconciliations at the close of the monthly cycle
- Use your understanding of the balance sheet and P&L to track and report on treasury and cash movements
- Contribute to the Group reporting process, specifically intercompany reconciliations
- Own all reporting requirements towards our lenders, including covenant compliance
- Review interest charges received from lenders for consistency with the facility agreements (utilisation / non-utilisation fees)
- Support SHEQ with the ESG targets set out in the lending agreements, ensuring the associated interest saving is maximised
- Collate and present projected efficiency savings to improve covenant test metrics
- Assist with the year-end audit process
- Interact with internal stakeholders on deliverables and issue resolution, and drive ad hoc projects delivering proactive treasury solutions
- Support ad hoc reporting duties
Key Deliverables
In this role, you'll be measured against:
- A rolling short-term and medium-term cash flow forecast, with actuals versus forecast reporting
- A covenant and leverage compliance pack, including forecast covenant tests and headroom analysis
- A lender reporting pack, covering all facility agreement reporting obligations and interest charge reviews
- A Group cash pooling structure, implemented and operating across UK, Europe, ME and India entities
- A treasury management / banking and payments solution, implemented and embedded
- A bank account, mandate and signatory register, with mapped and monitored bank costs
- A treasury policies and procedures manual, covering FX, interest rate risk, payments and intercompany funding

EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Treasury experience
- 10–15+ years' experience in finance and treasury, with a successful track record of creating an international treasury centre
- Experience leading treasury control structure projects
- Experience implementing a banking and payments solution (treasury management system) and cash pooling structures
- Experience in modelling financial risk and cash forecasting
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Qualified accountant or CTA
Desirable
- AMCT/MCT (Association of Corporate Treasurers) qualification, or working towards one
