Treasury Accountant
Location: London/ Hybrid
Salary: £75,000 - £90,000
Contract: Contract (6-9 months)
We are working with a well-established organisation seeking an experienced Treasury Accountant to join its Treasury/Finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical accounting knowledge and practical experience of reporting to take ownership of key treasury accounting activities within a complex environment.
The Role
Reporting into the senior finance team, you will be responsible for the accounting and reporting of treasury activities, ensuring accurate and compliant treatment under IFRS and supporting the wider finance function with technical accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of treasury processes, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, borrowings, investments and financial instruments.
- Applying IFRS 9 to financial instruments, including classification, measurement and impairment.
- Supporting hedge accounting and the accounting for derivatives and hedging relationships.
- Preparing and reviewing accounting entries, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
- Supporting the preparation of financial statements and relevant IFRS 9 disclosures.
- Working closely with Treasury, Financial Reporting, FP&A and external auditors.
- Providing technical accounting advice on new and existing treasury transactions.
- Reviewing the accounting implications of financing arrangements and other complex financial instruments.
- Maintaining robust controls and documentation around treasury accounting processes.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting.

About You
You will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant experience in treasury or financial reporting.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Strong practical knowledge of IFRS 9.
- Experience with financial instruments and derivatives.
- Understanding of hedge accounting and related documentation.
- Experience preparing or reviewing technical accounting papers.
- Strong month-end and financial reporting experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The confidence to work with stakeholders across Treasury and Finance.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
Experience within a large, regulated or complex organisation would be advantageous.
