Treasury Assistant

Finance | Hybrid/ Haydock

We have an exciting opportunity for a Treasury Assistant to join our Finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail, good numerical and administrative skills, and an interest in developing their experience within a busy Treasury function.

Working closely with the Treasury Associate and wider Finance team, you’ll support the day-to-day treasury activities of the business, including processing payments, employee expenses, maintaining accurate financial records and responding to queries from across the organisation.

You’ll play an important part in ensuring transactions are processed accurately, appropriate approvals are in place and our financial controls and policies are consistently followed.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Process supplier, payroll and other payments as required, ensuring the appropriate approvals have been obtained in line with the Delegation of Authority and Treasury Policy
  • Audit, approve and process employee expense claims in accordance with company policy
  • Support the administration and reporting of the business's expenses system
  • Assist with the calculation and reporting of key financial metrics, including Net Debt
  • Respond to Treasury-related queries from colleagues across the wider business, providing a professional and helpful service
  • Maintain accurate Treasury documentation and records, ensuring information is appropriately filed, stored and easily retrievable for audit purposes
  • Support the Treasury team with the ongoing development and improvement of internal processes and procedures
  • Provide day-to-day support and cover to colleagues within the Treasury team
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and the wider business
  • Undertake additional ad hoc duties and support as required

What We're Looking For

You don't necessarily need extensive Treasury experience to be successful in this role. We're looking for someone who is organised, numerate and keen to develop their knowledge within a Finance environment.

You'll Ideally Have

  • Good numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel and a willingness to further develop your skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional and friendly approach when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A reliable, proactive, and conscientious approach to your work
  • An interest in Treasury, Finance and developing your knowledge of financial processes and controls

Previous experience within Finance, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or a similar administrative environment would be beneficial but isn't essential where you can demonstrate the right skills and aptitude.
