About Us
At Exchange for Change (EfC), we are building something the UK has never had before. Working across the United Kingdom, we are designing and delivering a Deposit Return Scheme from the ground up, creating a system that helps reduce litter and waste by encouraging people to return their empty drinks bottles and cans for recycling.
We are industry led, and driven by purpose. A national movement with a clear mission. No bottle unreturned. No can left behind.
This is not just another job. This is a rare opportunity to do meaningful work, shape a landmark national programme, and help deliver lasting positive impact for people, businesses and the planet alike.
Your Role
You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Treasury function, owning operational tasks, including short term cash flow forecasting, payment and collection processing, bank account reconciliation, KPI reporting and short-term cash investments.
You will be part of the Treasury team and work closely with the Head of Treasury, finance team and the wider business, being a central point for all things cash and liquidity in the business. You will build and maintain strong relationships with our operational banks and technology partners.
Your work will directly support the successful delivery of the scheme, ensuring security of funds held, and availability of liquidity as required.
You’ll be based at our Milton Keynes office (30min from Euston) with the option to work flexibly from office or home (minimum 3 days in office).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
