We are delighted to be working with a reputable growing business based in Middlesbrough who are looking to recruit an experienced Finance/ Treasury Assistant to join their finance team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily cash positions and assist with short-term cash flow forecasting.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Process payments, including supplier payments, payroll, and intercompany transfers.
  • Maintain banking records and documentation, including opening and managing bank accounts.
  • Administer company credit cards and employee expense claims.
  • Prepare treasury reports covering cash movements, balances, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external banking partners.
  • Identify and implement improvements to treasury processes and controls.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a finance or treasury role (or a strong interest in treasury).
  • Good understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • AAT qualification (or working towards it) or an interest in studying AAT/ACT is desirable.
