About the team:
The Bank Funding Group (BFG) plays a critical role in supporting Investec Bank plc's balance sheet and lending activities. The team is responsible for raising, managing and optimising funding across the bank, bringing together treasury, liquidity management, funding strategy, deposit gathering and related change initiatives into one function.
As a Treasury Dealer, you'll operate at the centre of the bank's funding and liquidity management activities, working closely with Treasury, ALM, Market Risk, Finance, Settlements, Funding Channels and Trading desks. This is a highly visible role offering broad exposure across the balance sheet, financial markets and strategic funding activities.
What will I be doing?
As a Treasury Dealer, you will be responsible for managing cash, liquidity and market activities while supporting the effective funding and risk management of Investec's balance sheet.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing daily cash positions, liquidity and funding requirements across multiple currencies.
- Executing money market transactions, FX swaps, repos and reverse repos.
- Managing collateral requirements and supporting margining obligations.
- Monitoring and managing liquidity, funding and interest rate risk within approved risk appetite limits.
- Supporting the implementation of hedging strategies for interest rate and foreign exchange risk in the banking book.
- Managing Central Treasury's FX exposure and balance sheet currency mismatches.
- Conducting analysis and research to identify investment opportunities across the Liquid Asset Portfolio.
- Contributing to portfolio construction, asset allocation and risk management decisions.
- Funding business units, branches and subsidiaries while ensuring accurate internal pricing.
- Pricing and executing treasury products including FX swaps, interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps and money market transactions.
- Producing Treasury reporting and management information for senior stakeholders.
- Working closely with Settlements, Finance, Market Risk, ALM and Technology teams to ensure smooth execution of Treasury activities.
- Providing market commentary and treasury updates to internal stakeholders.

What do I need to bring?
You will have a strong interest in financial markets and treasury operations, ideally gained within a banking, treasury or financial services environment.
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Knowledge of treasury, liquidity management and funding activities.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical and quantitative skills.
- An understanding of fixed income, money markets and foreign exchange markets.
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with a desire to continually improve processes.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements applicable to treasury activities.
- A commitment to acting with integrity and delivering fair customer outcomes.
