Interim Treasury & Financial Accountant - Public Sector
As an Interim Treasury & Financial Accountant in the Public Sector, you'll oversee Treasury operations, ensuring the smooth management of budgets, reporting, and compliance. You will be asked to take on adhoc finance tasks, so a versatile mindset is essential.

Public Sector organisation operating just outside London.
Description
- Lead on cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning to optimise investment opportunities.
- Develop and implement investment strategies aligned with the Council's Treasury Management Policy.
- Prepare statutory treasury reports, including the Treasury Management Strategy Statement (TMSS), mid-year review, and annual report.
- Ensure compliance with the CIPFA Treasury Management Code and other relevant legislation.
- Support the Council's VAT function, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with treasury activities, including interest rate risk and counterparty risk.
- To undertake other duties which may arise or as may be delegated from time to time, commensurate with the skills required for this post.
- To deliver services effectively, the council requires a degree of flexibility from its workforce, whereby staff are required to perform work not specifically specified on their job description to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services subject to the needs of the business.

Profile
A successful Finance Manager will have:
- A professional qualification in accounting or finance, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Strong Treasury experience in Local Government.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.

Job Offer
- Daily rate of £630 to £770, dependent on the level of experience.
- Opportunity to work in the Greater London.
