Treasury and FX Manager

We are working with a leading international commodities business who are looking to appoint an experienced Treasury and FX Manager to lead the Group Treasury function.

This is a senior position responsible for liquidity, cash flow forecasting, FX, banking relationships, intercompany funding and treasury systems. The role will also drive process improvements, automation and cash visibility while providing senior management with clear insight into the Group's liquidity, funding and financial risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily bank reconciliations, payments and Group liquidity, ensuring cash is pooled, centralised and deployed efficiently to minimise idle balances, borrowing and financing costs.
  • Manage and optimise the Treasury Management System, banking connectivity and treasury technology, including controls, data integrity, automation, user training and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the setup and optimisation of payment and statement messaging, including SWIFT, SEPA and other relevant formats, to increase visibility and control of Group cash management.
  • Lead treasury projects and process improvements covering systems integration, cash visibility, payment infrastructure, reporting and scalable front-, middle- and back-office operations.
  • Manage banking relationships, FX lines, cash-management arrangements, liquidity solutions and short-term investments in line with business needs and risk parameters.
  • Manage Group-wide FX exposure by identifying and monitoring risks, maintaining the FX framework and executing or coordinating spot, forward and swap transactions in accordance with Group Treasury policies.
  • Manage intercompany funding and cash movements, ensuring efficient allocation of liquidity, appropriate documentation and compliance with Group policies.
  • Maintain banking mandates and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with Delegations of Authority, Group Treasury policy and the Group structure.
  • Maintain robust treasury controls, including segregation of duties, authorisation, bank access and transaction controls, while promoting best practice across local treasury teams.
  • Lead and develop the Group treasury team and provide clear analysis and insight to senior management on liquidity, cash, FX exposure, investments and working capital.
  • Own the Group and subsidiary cash-flow forecasting process, partnering with business units to produce accurate, timely forecasts that identify liquidity requirements, funding needs, surplus cash and optimisation opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
