About the Team
The Treasury team acts as 1st LoD and is at the forefront of driving financial excellence and supporting strategic growth. The Treasury team mission is to optimise the company's financial resources and investment, manage financial risks, ensure robust liquidity and effective cash management, and comprehensive treasury operations.
Moreover, the team collaborates closely with the product and business team to align financial strategies with business objectives. By contributing to impactful financial decisions, the Treasury team aims to enable sustainable success and growth.
About the Role
As the Lead, Debt Planning & Management, you will play a crucial role in the team in developing and executing Tide’s funding strategy both across corporate debt and warehouse funding facilities. The role ensures Tide has the appropriate funding structure, capacity, and flexibility to support growth while optimising funding costs and maintaining compliance with lender obligations.
The role will lead Treasury’s planning, execution, and ongoing management of Tide’s debt portfolio, working closely with Finance, Risk, Legal, Product, and external funding providers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Corporate debt strategy and management
- Develop and execute Tide’s corporate debt strategy to support business growth and strategic objectives
- Evaluate funding requirements and recommend the optimal mix of debt instruments
- Lead the sourcing, negotiation, and execution of new corporate debt facilities
- Manage the refinancing activities and maturity planning
- Optimise funding costs while balancing liquidity, flexibility, & risk
- Build and maintain relationships with banks, institutional lenders, and other funding providers
Warehouse funding
- Own the strategy and management of Tide’s warehouse funding programme
- Ensure the facilities provide sufficient capacity to support lending growth
- Lead negotiations for new warehouse facilities, amendments, and renewals
- Work closely with lending and finance to ensure facilities remain aligned to portfolio performance
- Monitor advance rates, utilisation, borrowing base availability, and concentration limits
- Support the development of future funding structures

Debt Portfolio Management
- Monitor all debt facilities throughout their lifecycle
- Manage debt drawdowns, repayments, and utilisation planning
- Maintain an accurate forward funding plan
- Product management information covering funding capacity, utilisation, cost of funds, and upcoming maturities
- Identify optimisation opportunities across the debt portfolio
Financial Planning
- Partner with the Lead, Liquidity, Forecasting & Risk to incorporate funding assumptions into liquidity forecasts
- Model future debt requirements under multiple business growth scenarios
- Assess the impact of strategic initiatives on future funding requirements
- Support Board papers relating to funding strategy
Stakeholder Management
- Act as Treasury’s primary relationship manager for external lenders and funding partners
- Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Risk, and Lending teams during transactions
- Support lender due diligence processes
- Present funding recommendations to senior executives
Governance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all debt agreements and financing documentation
- Oversee covenant monitoring in partnership with wider Treasury and Finance teams
- Identify emerging funding risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure appropriate governance around debt approvals and funding decisions
What We Are Looking For
Tide is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead of Debt Planning & Management. The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in Treasury, within funding planning and management within a bank or fintech
- Prior experience in financial services – preferably in technology-driven & scale-up environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of corporate debt markets
- Experience structuring and managing warehouse funding facilities
- Experience negotiating debt documentation
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capability
- Strong commercial judgement
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Self-starter, independent, and extreme ownership mentality
- Experience working within a dynamic and strong-paced environment
