Treasury Manager (12-month Contract, Inside IR35) – Bristol (Hybrid)
Gi Group is advertising on behalf of our prestigious utilities client for an experienced Treasury Manager to take ownership of cash flow forecasting, liquidity management and treasury reporting. This is a key role ensuring the organisation maintains the right level of liquidity to meet operational and strategic requirements, while optimising returns and remaining compliant with internal controls and applicable regulatory requirements.
The position will also play a central role during a carve-out/transition (TSA), acting as a key interface with external banking partners and supporting implementation of treasury processes and systems for a standalone operating model.

Bristol (hybrid working – 2–3 days per week in the Bristol office)
Travel
Occasional travel to London and Edinburgh sites will be required

The role: what you’ll be doing
Cash & Liquidity Management
- Oversee daily cash positioning across bank accounts, maintaining clear visibility of available funds.
- Ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational and investment requirements.
- Manage payment processes, transaction approvals and cash transfers.
- Monitor and analyse variances between forecast and actual cash flows.
Cash Forecasting & Reporting
- Own and maintain rolling multi-entity cash flow forecasts across:
- 13-week
- 12-month
- 24-month
- Partner with Finance colleagues and regional management to ensure forecasts align to business planning cycles and forecast updates.
- Provide regular cash and liquidity reporting to support management decision-making.
- Support multi-entity liquidity management (including SPVs), intercompany funding and short-term cash planning.

Financial Control & Compliance
- Support month-end and year-end processes, including inputs to financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements and audit standards.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
- Support vendor/customer KYC information requests.
Carve-Out & Transition (TSA) Responsibilities
- Act as the key interface with treasury stakeholders and external banking partners during the TSA period.
- Support implementation/optimisation of a Treasury Management System (TMS).
- Develop and document treasury policies, procedures and controls for the standalone organisation.
- Support ERP implementation and TSA exit, improving cash visibility, reporting accuracy and process standardisation.
Role evolution post-TSA
As the standalone treasury model matures, the scope is expected to expand into:
- Payments and cash transfers execution
- Bank account administration (mandates/signatories)
- Bank reconciliations and enhanced cash reporting
- Day-to-day management of treasury systems and payment processes

Potential additional scope (to be confirmed):
- Setting up new banking relationships and service providers
- Supporting bank facilities/fees/credit arrangements and connectivity (SWIFT/host-to-host)
- Debt/loan/covenant monitoring and financing activity support
- Supporting management of liquidity, interest rate and counterparty risk
What we’re looking for
Essential:
- Degree in Finance / Accounting
- Strong experience in treasury operations, cash management and cash forecasting (or broader finance operations with strong treasury exposure)
- Hands-on experience with payment processing, bank reconciliations and banking platforms
- Strong ERP knowledge, ideally SAP R/3 (adaptable to other systems)
- Advanced Excel (able to structure data and handle large volumes accurately)
- High attention to detail, comfortable working to deadlines and managing high transaction volumes
- Strong written and spoken English; confident engaging proactively with senior stakeholders
- Experience supporting new banking arrangements and/or ERP implementations/integrations
- Demonstrable experience building/improving cashflow forecasting processes and tools
Desirable:
- Treasury and/or Accounting certification
