Your New Company
Group Finance Reporting (GFR) Treasury is a specialist team of five financial controllers within our global GFR organisation. The team is responsible for the management reporting of the Group’s Finance Income and Expense, as well as foreign exchange profit and loss. It also owns the statutory reporting for UK-incorporated treasury legal entities and contributes to the global consolidation and reporting of AstraZeneca Group accounts. Further, GFR Treasury provides finance business partnering services to other specialist areas such as pensions and insurance.
Although part of the Finance Control organisation, the GFR Treasury team works closely with Group Treasury to ensure that Treasury activity is accurately reflected in the Group accounts. Group Treasury is globally responsible for implementing the Group’s financial strategy, including funding, cash management and the management of financial risks such as foreign exchange risk, interest rate risk and financial counterparty default risk.
We are looking for an accountant who is enthusiastic about complex and specialist accounting areas. The opportunity is a contract role for 8-12 months. The following provides a summary of the role and requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
