The Team

KPMG’s Tax & Legal practice is a dynamic and successful part of the firm, advising a diverse client base from PE-backed, owner-managed and family businesses through to UK listed and multinational groups across a wide range of sectors.

Within this practice, the Treasury Tax team is a growing specialist group providing technical support on deals, financing transactions, international structuring and other complex tax advisory matters. We work closely with Corporate Tax client service teams to deliver high quality advice that is practical, commercially focused and technically robust.

The Treasury Tax team offers the opportunity to lead in a complex and increasingly important area of tax, shaping market-facing propositions, developing people and helping grow a distinctive specialist capability within the wider Tax business.

The Role

This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist Treasury Tax team at an exciting stage in its development, working on complex financing, structuring and advisory matters across KPMG’s Corporate Tax practice.

The role offers flexibility around location and working pattern, with the individual potentially based in any of KPMG’s UK offices, albeit regular visits to London or Leeds would be preferable. Occasional travel to client or other KPMG offices may also be required.

This role will suit an experienced Senior Manager or Director who is ready to take a visible leadership role in a specialist, high-demand area of tax. Strong technical credibility, commercial judgement, market focus and a genuine commitment to developing others will be essential.

As a Director in the team, you will:

  • Play a senior role in shaping and delivering technically excellent, commercially grounded advice on a broad range of treasury tax matters.
  • Bring deep experience of the UK loan relationships and derivative contracts rules, together with a strong understanding of the legal, accounting and commercial aspects of treasury activity.
  • Help lead the continued growth of the Treasury Tax capability by creating and developing market opportunities, strengthening relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, and raising the profile of Treasury Tax across the Corporate Tax practice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
