Job summary
We are looking for a 22.5 – 30 hours per week qualified Treatment Room Nurse to join our multidisciplinary Nursing team.
This role is responsible for the delivery of treatment room nursing services, working as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.
Working autonomously, the Treatment Room Nurse will work across several clinical areas including infection prevention and Dressings, Injections and standard nursing procedures. As part of the role, they will engage in and embrace population health management approaches within general practice, targeting health inequalities and improving access.
The post-holder will be an integral part of the general practice team as part of the multi-disciplinary team. They are to participate in formal training events and to promote best practice in their area of expertise as well as supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedure.

You will be provided with appropriate clinical supervision and an appropriately named individual in the organisation to provide general advice and support on a day-to-day basis.
Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of the Treatment Room Nurse in delivering health services:
- Support the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) lead and work to the IPC Policy
- Consult with patients and their families to undertake assessments of patient need
- Support and signpost patients to public health and screening programmes, including immunisations, vaccinations, and cervical screening and arrange appointments with clinical team as required.
- Embed population health management approaches within general practice, targeting health inequalities and improving access
- As required, provide routine nursing care to patients in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF
- Support trainee nursing staff, Healthcare Assistants and Phlebotomists in their roles as required
- Work within national and local protocols where these exist

About Us
We are a large 24,000 GP practice based in mid-Cornwall, and have a wide multidisciplinary team supporting excellent patient care for our registered population.
This role will join our established nursing team, and will provide treatment room procedures for patients.
We are committed to clinical learning and regularly support Medical Students, Student nurses and GP trainees alongside other aspects of learning and development within our teams.
