Trenches / Web3 Frontend Developer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Trenches / Web3 Frontend Developer based in United Kingdom.
This is a high-ownership frontend engineering role focused on building the client experience for a fast-moving onchain trading terminal.
You will own critical trading surfaces across both Solana and EVM, working directly on products used for real transactions and real money.
The role combines advanced frontend engineering with deep Web3, trading, wallet, and real-time application expertise.
You will take features from product idea through implementation, production release, measurement, and continuous improvement.
You'll work in a small, highly autonomous team where technical judgment, speed, and product instincts matter.
The environment is remote-first, AI-native, and designed for engineers who thrive with significant ownership and limited bureaucracy.
Your work will directly influence trading performance, execution quality, user experience, and revenue-generating product surfaces.
Accountabilities
- Own the frontend client experience for trenches trading, perpetuals, and prediction markets across Solana and EVM.
- Take end-to-end ownership of at least one revenue-generating product surface, from identifying opportunities and proposing solutions through development, production deployment, and optimization.
- Build and improve latency-sensitive trading experiences, including live data, execution, fill-quality UX, snipe controls, order flow, transaction states, and responsive interactions.
- Bring the trenches terminal to competitive parity or beyond with leading onchain trading products, focusing on the interactions that directly influence execution and fills.
- Unify Solana and EVM wallet, signing, approval, and transaction experiences into a coherent user interface while maintaining feature parity across supported platforms.
- Optimize browser and frontend performance using technologies and patterns such as WebSockets, RPC streams, optimistic UI, reconnection strategies, and backpressure management.
- Own measurable frontend performance outcomes, including p95 time-to-interactive and time-to-fill.
- Design and maintain trading interfaces covering charting, PnL, fills, transaction states, and onchain failure handling.
- Own production quality for the surfaces you deliver, reducing defect rates and preventing recurring incidents.
- Use strong product judgment to determine what should be built, particularly where latency, execution quality, and trader experience are critical.
- Work closely with frontend, UX, backend, and DevOps colleagues in a compact, cross-functional engineering environment.
- Use AI-native development practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining rigorous technical review and accountability for production quality.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant frontend engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of production-grade Web3 or onchain products.
- Proven experience shipping products involving real users and real money, such as perpetuals, decentralized exchanges, launchpads, prediction markets, or trading terminals.
- Hands-on production experience with both Solana and EVM ecosystems; experience with only one ecosystem is not sufficient.
- Genuine familiarity with onchain trading and its mechanics, including fills, slippage, priority fees, execution quality, and transaction behavior.
- Strong frontend engineering expertise in real-time and latency-sensitive applications, including WebSockets, RPC streams, optimistic interfaces, reconnection, and backpressure.
- Experience building sophisticated trading interfaces involving charting, order flow, PnL, fills, transaction states, and onchain error handling.
- Experience with Solana wallet adapters and embedded wallet solutions such as Privy or comparable technologies.
- Ability to understand and diagnose frontend performance issues at a systems level rather than relying solely on established recipes or patterns.
- Demonstrated product ownership and initiative, including proposing, building, and launching features without requiring detailed specifications or assigned tickets.
- Experience with mobile or cross-platform delivery is valuable, particularly maintaining feature parity across web and mobile applications.
- Strong understanding of modern frontend development practices and the ability to deliver reliable production software in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools as a genuine part of the engineering workflow, including knowing what to delegate to AI and how to review and validate its output.
- Strong self-management, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working remotely with reasonable overlap across global time zones.
- Passion for crypto, Web3, trading products, and building practical experiences for active users is strongly valued.
